Please sign up by January 1 to allow time for kit assembly and shipping.
Discover the original form of the broom with our Twisty Witches’ Besom workshop. Made with natural golden broomcorn, this class introduces my signature spiraling technique, creating a dynamic twist through the bristles. The word “besom” comes from Old English bēos, meaning “bundle of twigs”—a nod to the broom’s roots as both a practical tool and a magical companion. Craft your own functional work of art and honor centuries of tradition.
Your kit will include:
- broomcorn
- a kiln-dried PNW hardwood handle
- twine
- a stitching needle
Other tools you will need:
- a drill
- a lighter
- a sharp knife
- sharp scissors
- a hand towel
- a dowel to use as a foot brake (explained later)
- a gardening glove for your dominant hand (optional)
- a hand clamp (optional, but good for breaks)
- a container to soak some of your broomcorn
For international orders, choose the “Local Pickup” option and include your address and phone number in the notes. In order to give you the fairest rates, we will bill you separately for S&H! Please contact us prior to purchasing for any shipping questions.
Cost includes the custom kit, admission to the Zoom class, and a recorded demo.
An email will be automatically sent to you when you order, detailing how to log in and other tips to prepare for class in advance. Make sure to keep an eye on your Spam or Junk folders to make sure you don’t miss the prep email.
You must be signed up to receive email updates in order to receive the prep email. Without the prep email, you won’t have access to the class.
