February 14: Virtual Broom-Making Class - Valentine's Cobwebber

from $172.00
Single or Double Kit:

Please read all information carefully; there’s important stuff in here!

This workshop will take place via Zoom on Saturday, February 14 at 3 pm Pacific, and will take about 3 hours.

Please sign up by January 29 to allow time for kit assembly and shipping.

Join me for a Valentine’s Cobwebber Workshop, a celebration of one of the most beloved traditional broom forms. In this class, we’ll work with untrimmed natural craft broomcorn, allowing its long, whispery bristles to form that classic slender silhouette perfect for sweeping cobwebs from high corners, behind bookshelves, and all the places everyday brooms can’t quite reach.

Each kit includes everything you’ll need to craft a graceful, functional tool rooted in Appalachian tradition.

And in honor of Valentine’s season, I’m offering a special buddy bundle—a lovely option for partners, friends, or anyone you want to share a creative moment with. Whether you’re crafting for your home or gifting a broom with heart and heritage, this workshop invites you to slow down, make something meaningful, and enjoy a truly unique Valentine’s experience.

The kit includes:
- Natural Craft Broomcorn
- Chosen Twine
- Natural broom handle (kiln-dried, ethically sourced PNW hardwood )
- A stitching needle

Other items you will need to gather ahead of time:
- A sharp knife
- Scissors

- A hand towel
- A straight wooden dowel, roughly hip-width and about 2” in diameter
- A tall vase or jar to soak the ends of your broomcorn
- A hand clamp (optional)
- A gardening glove for your dominant hand (optional)

*Note: You will be prompted to choose your twine color when you check out. If you are ordering the buddy kit you can include a 2nd twine choice in the notes.

An email will be automatically sent to you when you order, detailing how to log in and other tips to prepare for class in advance. Make sure to keep an eye on your Spam or Junk folders to make sure you don’t miss the prep email.
