This workshop will take place on Zoom on Saturday, February 14 at 11 am Pacific.
This Valentine’s Day, trade crowded restaurants for something more meaningful: crafting side-by-side with someone you care about. This special class in our Beginner Workshop Series is designed as a shared experience — perfect for partners, friends, or any loved one who enjoys making things together.
We’ll wander through broom lore and tales of famous lovers, touch on the ancient festival of Lupercalia, and then dive into the hands-on joy of weaving broomcorn stalks into a handle grip — a beautiful technique to add to your broommaking repertoire.
Select a natural broomcorn kit to match your earlier brooms, or celebrate the holiday with our curated red-and-pink Valentine’s blend.
And because everything’s better when shared, you can take advantage of our special discounted bundle for two — a lovely deal for a unique Valentine’s activity that feels both creative and heartfelt. However, you lone wolves are also a valuable part of the experience, as well as first time broomers. This workshop is appropriate for all levels!
The kit includes:
- Curated or Natural Broomcorn
- Twine
- Broomcorn Stalks
- Prep Card
Other items you may need which are not included:
- a sharp knife
- a pair of scissors
- a lighter
- a dowel to use as a foot brake (explained later)
- a lidded container to soak your stalks
-a hand clamp (optional, but handy for taking breaks)
*Note: You will be prompted to pick your twine color when you check out. This only applies to kits with natural broomcorn. If you choose the curated Valentine's mix, you will also receive the complimentary twine.
