REGISTER BY FEBRUARY 12 to receive your workshop kit in time.
This workshop will take place on Zoom on Saturday, February 28 at 11 am Pacific.
For the first time, I’m offering a chance to craft a full-size functional sweeper in a single day. Using a dry sweeper method, you’ll build the broom’s shoulders by layering broomcorn carefully, then stitch it flat into the classic sweeper shape — no waiting days for the interior to dry.
Each kit comes with natural broomcorn and black twine, creating a timeless design that fits any home. If you are looking to expand your skills, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to create a practical, beautiful broom while learning a new, efficient technique. Some broom-making experience is recommended.
Your kit will include:
- natural broomcorn
- a kiln-dried PNW hardwood handle
- tarred black twine
- a stitching clamp
- a stitching needle
- workshop prep cards
Other tools you will need:
- a drill
- a lighter
- a dowel to use as your foot brake
- a sharp knife
- sharp scissors
- a hand towel
- a container for soaking the top 8” of your broomcorn (the stiff ends)
-a hand clamp (optional, but helpful for breaks)
For international orders, choose the “Local Pickup” option and include your address and phone number in the notes. In order to give you the fairest rates, we will bill you separately for S&H! Please contact us prior to purchasing for any shipping questions.
Cost includes the custom kit, admission to the Zoom class, and a copy of the recorded workshop will be sent to you after the class, as I have not previously taught this design.
An email will be automatically sent to you when you order, detailing how to log in and other tips to prepare for class in advance. Make sure to keep an eye on your Spam or Junk folders to make sure you don’t miss the prep email.
You must be signed up to receive email updates in order to receive the prep email. Without the prep email, you won’t have access to the class.
