Please read all information carefully; there’s important stuff in here!
This workshop will take place on Zoom on Saturday, April 11 at2 pm Pacific, and will take about 2 hours.
Please sign up by March 26 to allow time for kit assembly and shipping.
This workshop is all about curiosity, creativity, and giving yourself permission to play. Designed to highlight a range of weaving techniques, it offers a deeper look at the patterns and structures I use in my woven grips and caps—and invites you to make them your own.
We’ll craft a traditional round whisk and devote our time together to exploring different weaving approaches, testing variations, and seeing how small changes create big visual shifts. Each participant receives materials for two whisks, so you can focus on one technique during class and continue experimenting after.
Choose natural or black broomcorn and the twine color that feels right to you. This class is a wonderful way to build skill, confidence, and fluency in one focused area of broom-making.
The kit includes:
- Natural or black broomcorn
- Natural broomcorn stalks
- Twine of your choosing
- Prep Card
Other items you may need which are not included:
- a sharp knife
- a pair of scissors
- a lighter
- a dowel to use as a foot brake (explained later)
- a hand clamp (optional, but handy for taking breaks)
You will be prompted to select your twine & broomcorn color after you click “purchase”
For international orders, choose the “Local Pickup” option and include your address and phone number in the notes. In order to give you the fairest rates, we will bill you separately for S&H! Please contact us prior to purchasing for any shipping questions.
Cost includes the custom kit, admission to the Zoom class, and a recorded demo.
An email will be automatically sent to you when you order, detailing how to log in and other tips to prepare for class in advance. Make sure to keep an eye on your Spam or Junk folders to make sure you don’t miss the prep email.
You must be signed up to receive email updates in order to receive the prep email. Without the prep email, you won’t have access to the class.
