June 12 & 15 - Witches' Cottage Sweeper - Admission & Materials

This workshop will take place on Zoom on two separate days:

  1. Friday, June 12th at 1pm Pacific (4pm Eastern), we’ll learn to attach the bristle to the stick. This portion will take about 2 hours.

  2. Monday June 15th at 1pm Pacific (4pm Eastern), we will stitch and weave our brooms. This portion can take three to four hours. In the days between, your bristle will dry before stitching.

Your purchase will include:

  • admission to the class via Zoom

  • up to 7 hours of live instruction

  • pre-recorded demo video

  • approximately 1.5lb of broomcorn of your choice (natural, black, or mixed) *

  • kiln-dried PNW hardwood handle, or Pine Dowel handle *

  • broomcorn stalks for weaving

  • tarred twine for constructing your bristle

  • colored twine of your choice for stitching and weaving *

  • stitching clamp

  • stitching needle

  • workshop prep pamphlet

If you would like to order two kits with different color selections, please add them to the cart individually.

Other tools you will need:

  • drill

  • lighter

  • dowel to use as your foot brake

  • sharp knife

  • sharp scissors

  • hand towel

  • close-fitting gardening gloves

  • container to soak your trimmed broomcorn (a large lidded jar works great)

  • hand clamp (optional, but handy for taking breaks)
