This class takes place on Zoom on Friday, October 24 at 3pm Pacific and will take about three hours.
Please sign up by October 9 to allow time for kit assembly and shipping.
This class is best suited for broom-makers with some experience.
The Rooster Tail is an elegant whisk that is worth the complicated process. In this continuation of our all black Samhain broom series you will learn tension winding as well as how to weave the hurl—creating a braided broomcorn effect. This produces a finely finished and detailed whisk. Many use these brooms as ceremonial tools, but they make beautiful decor, and are completely practical for all of your nooks and crannies. This class is an excellent opportunity to advance your broom making skills and create a unique seasonal hand broom.
The kit includes:
- black broomcorn
- black twine
Other items you may need which are not included:
- a sharp knife
- a pair of scissors
- a lighter
- a hand towel for your lap
- a dowel to use as a foot brake (explained later)
- a way to soak your broomcorn (about 10” deep)
FOR INTERNATIONAL ORDERS, PLEASE ALLOW 4-6 WEEKS FOR SHIPPING.
Cost includes the custom kit, admission to the Zoom class, and a recorded demo.
