Want to deep dive into broom-making? Sign up for a workshop bundle to save 20%, and come away with a unique set of Autumn themed brooms!

In the Fallen Leaves Woven Hurl Broom Bundle, you’ll explore the process of securing broomcorn to wooden handles and weaving the hurl into a decorative cap—a method I began using just last year, which lends each broom a distinct and elegant finish.

The bundle includes two projects. First, the Sweeper Workshop, which takes place over two sessions on November 7 & 21 at 10am Pacific. This spacing gives the broomcorn time to dry before we stitch the bristle flat, resulting in a durable and refined sweeper. Then on November 8 at 12pm Pacific, you’ll craft a classic Porch Broom, a charming little round besom that’s equally useful for sweeping cozy corners and gathering cobwebs from high eaves.

Throughout both classes, you’ll learn fundamental techniques such as tension winding with a foot break, weaving broomcorn into decorative patterns, and stitching bristle into both flat and rounded shapes. By the end, you’ll have a beautiful, functional set of brooms in our Fallen Leaves mix—perfect for gifting, seasonal decor, or ritual practice.

Your kit will include:

- broomcorn color mix
- two kiln-dried PNW hardwood handles
- tarred twine for constructing your bristle
- midnight colored twine for stitching and weaving
- a stitching clamp
- a stitching needle
- workshop prep cards

Other tools you will need:
-
a drill
- a lighter
- a dowel to use as your foot brake
- a sharp knife
- sharp scissors
- a hand towel
- a container for soaking the top 8” of your broomcorn (the stiff ends)
-a hand clamp (optional, but helpful for taking breaks)

Cost includes the custom kit, admission to the Zoom classes, and recorded demos.
