Join me in September for a workshop that will take place on Zoom on two separate days; on the first day, Friday, September 12 at 10am Pacific, we’ll learn to attach the bristle to the handle. This portion will take about 2 hours. The second day, Friday, August 19 at 10am Pacific, we will stitch and weave our brooms. This portion can take up to three hours. In the days between, your bristle will dry in order to be ready for stitching.

In this workshop, you'll have the opportunity to craft a full-sized Sweeper including an option to use our curated color mixes for Summer and Autumn! This broom is a fully functional and long-lasting tool, and it displays beautifully. This also makes a truly sacred handmade gift, often given to folks moving into a new space, or a couple getting married. The Sweeper is also a powerful tool for ritual cleansing and strong protection.

Your kit will include:
- approximately 1.5lb of your chosen broomcorn
- a kiln-dried PNW hardwood handle
- broomcorn stalks for weaving

- tarred twine for constructing your bristle
- your chosen twine for stitching and weaving
- a stitching clamp
- a stitching needle
- workshop prep cards

Other tools you will need:
- a drill
- a lighter
- a dowel to use as your foot brake
- a sharp knife
- sharp scissors
- a hand towel

- a container with a lid (like a large mason jar) for soaking your stalks

- a container for soaking the top 8” of your broomcorn (the stiff ends)

You will be prompted to pick your twine color when you go to Check Out. Cost includes the custom kit, admission to the Zoom class, and recorded demos.

**Due to variations in lighting and screen color settings, we cannot guarantee that the twine color you see on your screen exactly match the color you will receive in your kit** *(although I’ve done my best to achieve color accuracy, some of these colors are pretty tricky to photograph!)*

SHIPPING:
Kits for Live workshops are shipped the week prior to the workshop date.
Example: If you place your order in November for a workshop that takes place in March, your kit will not ship until March, etc.
Kits for Recorded Workshops are usually shipped within a week. (Unless ordered with a live workshop, then both ship the week before the live workshop.)
We package orders on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Packages are dropped at the post office on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Orders placed after 4pm pst on Wednesday will not ship out until the following week.
