This class takes place on Zoom at 12pm Pacific on Saturday, November 8 and will take about four hours.
What better way to celebrate the season than making your own litte besom to cast a gratitude spell? Create the perfect addition to your cozy Fall routine and decor in this Virtual Workshop, where you’ll come away with a traditional Porch Broom in our Autumn leaves inspired colored broomcorn mix. I will also be teaching a method of weaving the top of the hurl to create a decorative cap where the bristle meets the handle.
The kit includes:
- Broomcorn Mix
- Colored Twine
- Short-length natural wood handle (kiln-dried, ethically foraged PNW hardwood )
- A stitching needle
Other items you may need which are not included:
- a sharp knife
- a pair of scissors
- a lighter
- a short dowel to use as a foot brake (explained later)
- a tall container to soak the stiff ends of your broomcorn
- a hand towel
- a rubber band
- a hand clamp (optional, but handy for taking breaks)
Cost includes workshop, custom kit, and a recorded demo.
